5 Reasons To Be Excited About Spring Style
If you’re anything like me, you’ve been checking your weather channel app twice a day since March hit. While I love the seasons, after spending 4 years in Miami, I am so ready for winter to be over. Winter in Miami is pretty much 70 degrees and sunny everyday. That's like having 4 months of spring from November to February. That means my current winter wardrobe is sparse to say the least, and I cannot wait to break out the bright colors and flowing dresses! When less clothing is required, there is more room to be creative. More room to accessorize!
Unfortunately for my closet, and for rock climbing, the past couple weekends in the southeast have been cold and rainy. Last weekend my boyfriend and I went down to Chattanooga to climb, but because of the weather we had to check out the indoor gym instead. We also ended up at the Tennessee aquarium for part of the day. I would highly recommend this just for the Jelly Fish exhibit. One of the coolest things I've ever seen!!
Anyway, I wanted to share 5 reasons why I am excited for the end of freezing rain and the start of spring style! Let’s do some spring dreaming (:
1. Jean Jackets
Or any light jacket for that matter! In Nashville, I am always going out to live shows, and a winter coat is such a hassle. I have to either leave it on and burn up, or take it off and carry it around all night. The. Struggle. Is. Real. But have no fear!! Soon enough we’ll all be able to put those bulky clothes away and break out jackets that are actually cute, and suitable for outdoors and indoors. Hooray!
2. Open Backs
Because if you’re going to show some skin, your back is the classiest place to do it! There is nothing that says "I'm going to conquer the world" more than a high neck, open back, skinny jeans and a good pair of heels.
3. Sun Hats
When fall hits, the beanies come out, and when spring hits… hello sun hats!! I have two that I love, both from Free People. Hats are essential for the second day after a hair wash, or for bad hair days in general. Since I cut my hair short, it requires a lot of styling that I don’t always have time for. I am in desperate need of some sun hat weather!
4. Boots with Dresses
Who doesn’t love that sweet spot when it’s warm enough to wear a sundress, AND cool enough for boots?? You can’t beat a good pair of combat boots. I have them in black, army green, and brown. All of the essential colors that go with everything. There's something whimsical about wearing some edgy boots with a short flowing dress.
5. Colorful Prints
This one is last but definitely not least! Winter brings sleek black sparkles, and spring brings color. My policy is when deciding between prints and solids, choose prints!!
